Furseth, Pierce lead Craig wrestlers

MONROE — Siven Furseth and Chris Pierce won individual titles to lead Janesville Craig High’s wrestling team to a fourth-place finish in Saturday’s Monroe Invitational.

Whitewater won the 10-team title with 177 points, while Clinton was second with 155.5.

Furseth, a sophomore, improved to 31-1 after winning the 112-pound title and was named the meet’s Most Valuable Wrestler for the second straight year. Pierce, also a sophomore, pushed his season record to 21-3 by winning the 125-pound class.

Ethan Miles (145) and Andrew Mathison (215) won individual titles to help lead the Whippets to the team title.

Clinton’s Brad Hesebeck improved to 26-1 after winning the 135-pound title.
