Elkhorn High’s boys basketball team moved into sole possession of first place in the Southern Lakes Conference on Friday night.
The Elks raced out to an 11-point halftime lead and coasted to a 67-51 win over Wilmot. The unbeaten Elks improved to 9-0 overall and 4-0 in the Lakes. With Delavan-Darien’s upset of Waterford, Elkhorn moved one-half game ahead of the Wolverines (4-1).
Eric Bryson led the eighth-ranked Elks with 22 points, and Max Findreng added 15.
Landon Tenhagen paced the Panthers with 14 points, while Justin Dewing added 12.
Elkhorn led 28-17 at halftime and pushed the lead to 15 at the end of the third quarter.

Delavan-Darien 51, Waterford 47—The host Comets knocked Waterford out of first place in the Southern Lakes thanks to 16 points from Jarrett Fowlkes.
Delavan-Darien (6-4, 2-2) made 11 of 17 free throws in the fourth quarter to hold off the Wolverines (6-4, 4-1).
Aaron Logterman chipped in 12 points for Delavan-Darien, and Tyler Butke finished with 11.
Brent Kuschewski led Waterford with 10 points.
