Milton High School couldn’t keep the lid on Madison Edgewood en route to a 54-37 defeat in Badger South girls basketball on Friday.
With the victory, Edgewood remains tied with Monroe for the Badger South lead, each at 7-1 each. Milton falls to 3-5 in the league and 3-9 overall.
The Red Hawks trailed 17-13 at the half as both teams scored in single digits in each quarter. The Crusaders took a 22-15 edge in the third quarter for a 39-28 lead.
McKenzie Reese and McKenzie Kolb scored 14 points each for Edgewood. Amber Davis scored 10 points for Milton

n Monroe 65, Edgewood 36—After losing two of their last three games, the highly routed Cheesemakers stepped into high gear and routed a contending Oregon team, 65-36, in a key Badger South game.
The win kept Monroe’s defending WIAA Division 2 state champions (11-2, 7-1) in a first-place tie with Madison Edgewood. Oregon frell to 11-4 overall and 4-3 in the conference.
Monroe overcame a 13-8 deficit after the first quarter to bury Oregon in a staggering 19-0 second period. Ashley Hermanson scored 20 of her 25 points in the two middle quarters as Cheesemakers pulled away to a 47-27 lead.
Jamie Armstrong back up Hermanson with Hermanson with 12 points.
