Bluebirds in scoring drought
FOND DU LAC The Janesville Bluebirds are in a scoring funk.
Fond du Lac scored two goals in the third period and held off Janesville’s high school co-op team 3-1 in a nonconference game Friday night.
Janesville’s Michael Valentine tied the game at 1-1 just 35 seconds into the third period, but Taylor Hintz scored 11 seconds later as the 10th-ranked Cardinals (12-3-1) took the lead for good.
“We’re having trouble scoring right now,” Janesville coach John Mauermann said. “For some reason, shots that were finding the net earlier in the year and not finding it now.
“We did a nice job of killing off two five-on-threes in the second period, but then we give up a gift goal to give them the lead in the third. Things just aren’t going our way right now.”
David Jacobson made 23 saves for the Bluebirds (7-3), who will play Neenah in a nonconference game at noon today.

Wow! They lost this one, too! Looks like your predictions could be wrong, John Barry.
