UW-Waukesha tops UW-Rock women

JANESVILLE — UW-Rock County gave UW-Waukesha its best shot, but wore out en route to a 79-44 loss in Wisconsin Collegiate Conference women’s basketball here Wednesday.

The Rattlers kept within six to eight points in the first half, but Waukesha found its stride in the final two minutes and rolled to a 43-27 halftime lead.

Waukesha improved to 13-0 in the WCC, while UW-Rock dropped to 6-6 and 6-8 overall.

Tiffany Draeving scored 13 points for the Rattlers, while teammate Kaylyn Sherrod added 11 points. Alyssa Jensen scored a game-high 22 points for Waukesha.

UW-Rock women plays at 1 p.m. Saturday at UW-Marshfield.
