— Julianne Hough of "Dancing With the Stars" fame has been added to the lineup for this summer's Rock County 4-H Fair, according to the Web site Pollstar.com.

The ballroom dancer and country singer has been scheduled for Friday, July 31.

Hough is known for her repeated appearances on "Dancing with the Stars," which she won twice. She earned a Creative Arts Primetime Emmy nomination in 2007 for her choreography.

Hough signed with Mercury Nashville Records in 2007 and released a self-titled album last May. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Album chart and No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

Twins Kate and Kasey Coppola also will perform July 31, according to Pollstar.

Country legend Ray Price will take the stage a night earlier.

The Rock County 4-H Fair will run Tuesday, July 28, through Sunday, Aug. 2. For more information, visit www.rockcounty4hfair.com or call (608) 755-1470.

they used to do other stuff at this fair long ago. I remember going to a tractor pull at the fair. it was set up behind the mainstage I think. yes a demo derby would be fun to watch. but do they have the room? if we get a decent lot in the country there would be.

why does the rock county fair have to put so much emphasis into competing against other musical venues in the sourounding counties. It is not the money making proposition it was 20 years ago, look into other ways to promote your fair with less overhead,I know you don't want to here it but there are enough gear heads in your area that would love to see a demo derby. County fairs in this area sometimes have to send cars away, low overhead high gate, it pays the bills.

This fair is becoming a mess. Julianne will put on a good show I'm sure. But Ray Price?? Are you kidding me? That will pack the stands. This fair states that it is losing money, but they won't take the risk of signing someone that can fill the stands. I have to question that thinking. You have to pay big sometimes to get people through the gates. You don't need to sign someone as big as Dierks, but there are other mid-level artists out there. Mark Wills, Jason Michael-Carrol, LeAnn Rimes, even bring back a great vocalist like Craig Morgan. You have to bet big to win big.

hannah - dierks bentley would cost far too much to bring to the fair..he sells out 20,000 seat arenas. I'd love to see him again, he's amazing live (saw him with Kenny Chesney and Carrie Underwood a few years back). The Rock County fair did so well for so many years bringing in young talent that went on to make it be (Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Toby Keith, Faith Hill, N'Sync, etc.). Lady Antebellum was a good pick last year as they've had a few big hits recently and are a good country-crossover band.

Hough's notoriety is based on riding the "Dancing with the Stars" coat tails and not depth and quality of voice. The last time I heard her sing, her voice was shallow and off key, so much so it was at a level of bad that made you cringe with embarassment for her and hope for a power outage to end the show.

Thank God for Riverfest!!!!!! They seem to pull it off every year with Rock R&B and even some oldies acts and they get crowds EVERYNIGHT!!!!! Beloit is so much smaller than Janesville yet are so much further ahead as far as this stuff goes.

Every time the fair brings in even a mid-level rock act, nobody shows up. As much as I'd like to see more non-country music acts, the board has to make decisions based on what will draw the largest crowds. I won't be there to watch, but I know many others will.

Julianne is a fabulous performer and extremely talented. I, for one, will be there early...for the first time in my life!! You don't know what you're missing folks!
As for so much country...maybe so, but take a look at the turnout when country is playing! Rather country than hard or even soft ROCK in my opinion. But to each his/her own!!!

God forbid they should sign anyone with a number one album. Those guys are so popular, nobody listens to them anymore.

Entertainment at the fair always sucks. Why would this year be any different? It would be nice to have music other than country once in a while.

I have to admit...the fair entertainment this year is pretty lame. For once, I'm not disappointed that our annual trip to the Brickyard 400 is the same weekend as the fair. Won't be missing much this year.

Are you kidding? Thank goodness there a lot of other area fairs to go to.
