Beloit Police are working to confirm the details in a shooting.

Shortly before 3pm Wednesday, police received a call from a local hospital that a man came in for treatment of a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Preliminary investigation shows 19-year-old Alfredo Padilla was shot on the west side of Beloit. Police are trying to pinpoint exactly where the shooting happened. Padilla told police he was just walking along the street when he was shot. Tyler says Padilla has been shot previously, has gang affiliations and is "no stranger to gun violence."

Beloit Police are also issuing arrest warrants for four Illinois teens thought to be involved in a heroin-related death Thanksgiving day in Beloit. Tyler says 19-year-old Jonathan Handy of Rockton, 18-year-old Michael Maginnis of Roscoe and 18-year-old Emily Hill of Winnebago are in the Winnebago County Jail awaiting extradition to Wisconsin. 19-year-old Christopher Dorris of Roscoe will be taken into custody upon his release from a court-ordered program. All face charges in the death of 18-year-old Ryan Kennington in Beloit.

Tyler says heroin cases are on the rise in the stateline area, which fuels lesser crimes like forgery, theft and stealing from relatives. He says heroin use doesn't discriminate between socioeconomic levels and predominantly he sees heroin use in middle class families.

Can anyone say they're trying to gin up the anti-drug war? Always good for some extra bucks.
