Westosha Central’s first victory of the high school boys basketball season was one for the books—and one the Falcons and Delavan-Darien won’t soon forget.

The host Falcons (1-9, 1-3) cracked the win column Monday night by outlasting the Comets, 76-74, in a staggering four-overtime Southern Lakes Conference marathon.

It was tied 44-44 at the end of regulation, 54-54 after the first overtime, 60-60 after the second and 69-69 after the third.

Central (1-9, 1-3) took a two-point lead late in the fourth overtime when Dustin Milz and Spencer McCoy each went 1-for-2 from the free-throw line.

After Johnny Wilson of the Falcons took a charge with 12 seconds left, Central was called for traveling after a long inbounds pass.

With a chance to send the game into a fifth overtime, the Comets missed a game-tying shot, and time ran out in a scramble for the rebound.

Central’s Austin Koeshall scored a game-high 27 points—14 in the overtimes—before fouling out. He sent the game into double overtime when he banked in a three-pointer with four seconds left.

The Falcons missed a put-back at the buzzer to end the second overtime. The Comets missed two free throws with no time left in the third overtime.

Tyler Butke scored eight of his 21 points in a 16-11 fourth quarter to help Delavan-Darien rally from a five-point deficit and force the first overtime.
