Three injured in Rock County crash
Three people are injured, one critically, in an apparent drunk driving crash Friday night.
Rock County Sheriff's officials say 39-year-old Daniel Winter of Evansville was at the intersection of Highways 14 and E west of Janesville when a truck on Highway E failed to stop at the intersection. 32-year-old Anthony Brogan and 32-year-old Jeff Swierk, both of Lombard, IL, were ejected when their truck collided with Winter's truck. The truck driven by Brogan landed on top of him in a ditch. He was treated for hypothermia at Mercy Hospital and arrested for causing injury by OWI. Officials say other citations are likely.
Swierk is listed in critical condition at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Winter had minor injuries but was not treated.
That portion of Highway 14 was closed for about an hour and a half.

I heard the helicopter last night. I can not believe that the truck landed on him and he escaped with minor injuries. He is lucky there was snow on the ground.
The fact that he was out of state and the roads were icy makes the drinking and driving factor a recipe for disaster.
I hope Mr. Sweirck & Mr. Winter have a speedy recovery.
