Janesville citizens have a chance to weigh in Monday on the Walgreens proposed for the corner of West Court and Arch streets.

Manager of Building and Development Services Gale Price says the new development says a lot about a community with the city can promote development in a particular area. He says there's new housing stock on the west side that needs to be served. City officials had previously said they expected the Walgreens at Five Points to close when the new location opens. Price now says Walgreens has given no indication it will close the Five Points location.

The city's plan commission holds a public hearing on the conditional use permit at 6:30pm in City Council Chambers.
