Fury wins in overtime
BEAVER DAM The Rock County Fury co-op girls hockey team fought back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Beaver Dam, 3-2, in overtime here Saturday.
Maci Weiser took a pass from Megan Lindgren and scored at 3 minutes, 2 seconds of the overtime for the winning goal.
“Megan slipped a nice little pass behind a girl to Maci three feet from the blue line and she cut across and made a nice shot,” Fury coach Darrel Moore said. “Maci is one of the girls we want to shoot the puck.’’
Chelsea Pomeroy scored off an assist from Lindgren and 12:01 of the second period to put Rock County on the board. Lindgren scored at 5:04 of the third period off assists from Lauren Kraft and Sam Shelton to tie the contest.
Rock County (6-8) will host a Green Bay U-19 Triple A team in a doubleheader this Saturday. The first game is at the Janesville Ice Skating Center at 9 a.m. and the second game is at 7 p.m. at Telfer Park in Beloit.
