UW-Rock County men can't hold off Baraboo

— UW-Rock County couldn’t keep the lid on UW-Baraboo and lost, 68-63, in Wisconsin Collegiate Conference men’s basketball here Tuesday.

Baraboo made 11 of 13 free throws in the second half to slip past the Rattlers. Baraboo did not attempt a free throw in the first half. UW-Rock held the lead until the last five minutes.

Matt Walker scored a game-high 24 points for Baraboo, including making four of his six three-point baskets in the second half.

Brian Bland scored 17 points for UW-Rock, while Matt Hilt added 14 and Mario Selph and Corey Kramer scored 12 points apiece.

The loss drops UW-Rock to 3-3 in the WCC and 9-7 overall.

UW-Rock has lost leading scorer and rebounder Fred Stewart and top reserve Prince Miller to academic suspension. The pair combined to average 25 rebounds a game for UW-Rock.

The Rattlers will travel to UW-Barran for a 1 p.m. game Saturday.
