— John Smoltz, the future Hall of Fame pitcher who just signed with the Boston Red Sox, will be one of the guests on Greg Hughes’ monthly Game Day Sports Fest radio talk show on WCLO, 1230 AM on Thursday night.

The two-hour show originates from Game Day Sports Bar & Grill, 966 S Jackson St., starting at 5:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

Hughes, a Janesville native who worked at Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta for many years, said he will do the phone interview with Smoltz sometime between 6 and 6:30 p.m. The 41-year-old Smoltz had 210 wins, 154 saves and a 3.26 ERA in a 20 seasons with the Braves before signing a one-year deal with Boston earlier this week.

Hughes also will talk with Milwaukee native Kevin Harlan, who has been doing NFL play-by-play for 25 seasons, and NBA and college basketball for more than 10 years. Harlan is the son of Bob Harlan, the former long-time President and CEO of the Green Bay Packers.

Kevin Porter, the Janesville school district athletic director, also will be a guest on the show.
