School board discusses administrative staff, basics of learning
An audit of the Janesville School District's administrative staff reveals school principals are wary of cuts to administration.
Consultant Jason Olson of Strategic HR Solutions says principals told him cuts to administrative staff put more pressure on those at the schools. He says there's also an increasing demand for information, which points to the school district's Information Technology structure. The school board heard the audit results at the meeting Tuesday. The board will take the results into consideration during budget season.
In other business, school board commissioners expressed an interest in getting back to the basics of education. Commissioner Greg Ardrey told his colleagues he feels frustrated the school board doesn't seem to talk about how the students are doing in school. Ardrey and Director of Instruction Services Donna Behn brought a presentation on ways the district keeps kids in school to the meeting Tuesday.
