— Councilman Tom McDonald announced Monday that he will host listening sessions on the Thursdays after the first council meetings of each month, beginning this Thursday.

The council meets the second and fourth Mondays.

The listening sessions will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at McDonald's law office at 200 S. Main St.

"Anyone is welcome, but I want to extend a special invitation to those folks (who) for one reason or another cannot make it down (to council chambers on) Monday nights," McDonald said.

"One of the major goals of this council has been to be more open to residents, and I see this as another way to reach out to a segment of the population we may not be reaching with our Monday evening meetings."
