Janesville Craig High School freshman Becky Schneider finished fourth in the all-around to highlight Janesville gymnasts at Saturday’s Falcon Invitational at Westosha Central.

The co-op team of Franklin/Muskego/Oak Creek/Whitnall won the 11-team invite, which featured some of the top Division 1 and Division 2 teams in the state. Franklin/Muskego/Oak Creek/Whitnall finished with 139.675, while Burlington/Lake Geneva Badger/Wilmot was second with 137.05. Craig was eighth with 129.80, Milton ninth at 125.525 and Janesville Parker 10th with 123.075.

Schneider finished second on the uneven bars with a score of 9.1, and added a fifth-place finish in the vault with a score of 9.0. Emily Schafer of Franklin/Muskego/Oak Creek/Whitnall won the all-around with a score of 35.825, while Schneider was fourth with 35.125.

“Becky had a great day considering this was her first complete meet of the year,” Craig coach Jean Welch said. “She had sprained her ankle earlier in the year, so it was nice to see her compete at full strength today.

“And as a team, we did very well.

“We had our highest (team) score of the year, so we keep on improving, and that’s important.”
