Brodhead High didn’t get the help it might have been hoping for in Rock Valley girls basketball Thursday night, but the Cardinals still took care of business.
Alyssa Harding’s three-point basket broke a 36-36 tie, and Brodhead went on to a 42-36 victory at Whitewater to remain a game behind Orfordville Parkview in the South Division.
Parkview stayed on top at 7-0 by downing North Division leader Jefferson, 57-53, while the Cardinals improved to 5-1 in conference play.
Whitewater trailed 24-15 at halftime before fighting back to force a fourth-quarter tie with Brodhead. That’s when Harding delivered her three as the Cardinals scored the final six points.
Kristen Ruchti and Dana Lewis led Brodhead (6-2 overall) with 13 points apiece. Kelsey Harms had a game-high 16 to lead the Whippets (2-9, 2-5).

n McFarland 63, Big Foot 50—The Spartans (8-3, 6-1) jumped out to a 34-18 halftime lead over visiting Walworth Big Foot and moved a half-game ahead of Jefferson (5-3, 5-1 as the Rock Valey North leader.
Kaitlynn Eversoll had 12 points to lead the Spartans.
Sarah Thune paced Big Foot (3-5, 3-4) with 13 points.

Edgerton held Palmyra-Eagle scoreless for the game’s first 10 minutes, 15 seconds.
