Parker gymnasts get third Big Eight win

Janesville Parker High School extended its Big Eight Conference gymnastics dual meet record to 3-0 with a 128.2-109.975 victory over Madison Memorial here Wednesday night.
Parker sophomore Erika Whitson won the vault with an 8.375, the uneven bars with an 8.4, the floor exercise with a 9.3 and the all-around with a 34.175 score.
Sophomore Emily Mauermann took second places in the uneven bars with an 8.2, floor exercise with an 8.375, balance beam with an 8.15 and the all-around with a 32.9 score for Parker.
The Vikings’ lone senior, Nicole Richardson, finished second in the vault with an 8.25 and fourth in the balance beam and floor exercise with 7.95 and 8.025, respectively. Freshman Maddie Seichter was fourth in the vault with a 7.9 and freshman Meridith Little finished third in floor exercise with an 8.35.
“I’m very proud of the way the team is stepping up,” Parker coach Cathy Lehmann said.
Parker will compete at the Westosha Central Invitational at 10 a.m. Saturday.
