Fury fall to Capitols
The Madison Capitols, a Triple A U-16 team not sanctioned by the WIAA, cruised to an 8-0 girls hockey victory over the Rock County Fury on Tuesday night at the Janesville Ice Skating Center.
“If this team played the other high school teams in Wisconsin, it would be the same score,” Rock County coach Darrel Moore said. “They are an elite team, they move the puck well. We kept up with them. They exposed our weaknesses. This is one of the reasons we had this game. We knew what we were getting into.”
The Capitols got four goals from Jenna Marks.
Moore said Fury goalkeeper Caitlyn Gusk turned in a stellar performance despite giving up the eight goals. Gusk did turn away 26 shots.
The Fury (5-7) will visit Madison on Thursday night for a game against the Capitol City co-op squad.
