Craig swimmers fall at Middleton

MIDDLETON — Janesville Craig High School suffered a 106-64 loss at Middleton in Big Eight Conference boys swimming Tuesday.

The loss dropped the Cougars to 2-2 in conference duals.

Nick Hazekamp of the Cougars won the 500 freestyle in 5 minutes, 08.27 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 56.19. Alex Loftus won the 100 in 1:05.49 to round out Craig’s victories.

“Middleton is a very strong team, and we are pleased with what we did against them,” Craig coach Brian Kitzman said. “Hazekamp had best time in the 500 and Loftus had a very good meet.’’

Craig hosts crosstown rival Janesville Parker at 5 p.m. Friday.
