A Janesville woman is taking her New Year's resolution seriously: she's running in her first marathon later this month.
28-year-old Katie Udell says she decided to run the marathon as a way to raise money for cancer research. It's an issue close to her heart, since her sister was diagnosed with bone cancer two years ago. Her sister is doing well, despite being diagnosed with leukemia last year. Udell says the leukemia was caused by the chemotherapy treating the bone cancer.
As she's training, Udell has worked up to half-marathons on the weekends.
