Fort Atkinson, Milton fall in finales

Fort Atkinson High School came up on the short end of a mighty double-overtime struggle with Mount Horeb, 61-60, in a Badger crossover boys basketball game Friday.

Fort held a 43-35 lead after three quarters, but the Vikings gained a 14-6 advantage in the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime.

Each team managed two points in the first OT, but the Vikings nipped the Blackhawks 10-9 in the second OT for the victory.

Jacob Enslin scored 21 points, and teammates Brady Sexson and Derek Stark added 15 and 13 points,respectively,for Fort Atkinson (1-19, 0-12). Luke Webber scored a game-high 23 points for Mount Horeb (4-16, 0-12).

n DeForest 69, Milton 63—The Norskies rallied in the second half to post a comeback victory over the Red Hawks in a Badger Challenge crossover game.

Milton (8-12, 6-6 Badger South) held a 39-29 halftime lead, but DeForest gained a 19-11 advantage in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 50-48.

The Norskies (8-12, 5-7) rolled to a 21-13 advantage in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

Mason Walters scored a game-high 24 points, and teammate Brandon Knudtson added 17 points. Alex Carlon scored 14 points to lead DeForest.

Capitol Challenge

n Lakeside Lutheran 86, Marshall 77—Senior point guard Nate Bauer scored 31 points as host Lakeside Lutheran defeated Marshall in a Capitol Challenge crossover matchup.

Senior Justin Eternick added 18 points, including three three-pointers, for Lakeside (17-3).

Marshall (15-5) was led in scoring by seniors Mike Boebl with 23 points, Greg Haag with 19 and Alex Koeller with 10.

Lakeside made all seven of its three-pointers in the first half en route to a 43-40 lead.
