Parkview girls win Division 3 thriller

Jenna Larsen hit two free throws with three seconds left to seal Orfordville Parkview’s thrilling 68-64 victory over visiting Mineral Point in the WIAA Divison 3 regional girls basketball semifinals Thursday night.

The Vikings (19-3) play top-seeded Cuba City (22-0) in a regional final at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Monroe. The winner advances to the Reedsburg Sectional.

Larsen finished with 19 points. She was fouled after the Pointers got to within two points.

Mineral Point (16-6) trailed 29-20, at halftime, but took advantage of Parkview turnovers starting late in the third quarter to rally.

Stephanie Aasen added 15 points, while Ashley Oldenburg and Sabrina Suiter each added 13 for the Vikings. Suiter had three three-point goals.

Claire Poad led the Pointers with 22 points, while Taylor Einerson added 17, including 11 in the second half.
