The recent warm weather could leave some ice shanty owners with a sinking feeling.
Rock County DNR Warden Boyd Richter is advising extreme caution when ice fishing. He says plenty of water is opening up, and recent rains and warmer weather are making some areas hazardous. Richter also recommends shanty owners consider removing their shanties from the ice before it's too late.
The deadline is March 9th.
