Albany, Faith Christian fall in girls tourney play

Heather Boeke scored 23 points, including 13 in a decisive third quarter, to lead visiting Juda to a 48-39 victory over Albany the WIAA Division 4 regional basketball semifinals Thursday night.

Albany, coached by Janesville’s Mike Brunhoefer, were led by Hillary Best and Hayli Peach with eight points each. The Comets finished 11-11.

Juda (12-10) plays Burlington Central (13-9) in a regional title game at 7 p.m. Saturday at Clinton. The winner advances to the Fort Atkinson Sectional.

n Central 48, Faith Christian 32—Burlington Central (13-9) built a 17-point lead in the first three quarters to eliminate visiting Williams Bay Faith Christian in a Division 4 regional semifinal game.

Alexa Deacon had 14 points to pace the top-seeded Hilltoppers, who face Juda (12-10) in a regional title game Saturday at Clinton. Kara Flikkema led Faith Christian with nine points.
