The Rock County Board of Supervisors will debate the allocation of $1.8 million from American Transmission Company.

County Administrator Craig Knutson says the money is an environmental impact fee from the company for upgrades to its transmission lines. The funds are designed to be spent on conservation or parks activities, but the committees governing those two areas don't agree on how it should be split. Knutson says the Land Conservation Committee recommends the funds be split evenly between the two areas. The Public Works Committee, which oversees parks, recommends about $250,000 for conservation and $1.5 million for parks.

Knutson says he has no recommendation.

The County Board will discuss the matter Thursday, at its regular meeting at 6pm in the county courthouse.
