Bradford girls knock off Milton, earn shot at Parker

Kenosha Bradford High School’s girls basketball team will be in Janesville on Saturday.

Bradford earned the trip to the Parker High gym by beating visiting Milton, 54-31, in a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal game Tuesday night.

Katie Young scored 20 points and Rachel Wenberg added 13 for Bradford, which plays Parker for the regional title and a spot in the Lake Geneva Badger Sectional. The No. 1-seeded Vikings had a bye Tuesday.

Amber Davis scored 12 points for the Red Hawks (6-15).

n Elkhorn 51, Stoughton 39—If the third time is the charm, Elkhorn will be heading to WIAA Division 1 sectional play.

The fifth-seeded Elks (13-8) advanced to the regional finals by defeating visiting Stoughton in their opener. They play at Lake Geneva on Saturday against fourth-seeded Badger, whom they have beaten twice this season in Southern Lakes Conference action.

Elkhorn had little problem with Stoughton (2-19). MacKenzie May led 10 the way with 10 points as the Elks built a 43-26 lead through three quarters.

n Badger 58, Beloit 38—Leah Rempert scored 18 points and Gina Ambrose added 10 as Lake Geneva Badger breezed past visiting Beloit Memorial (1-20) in a Division 1 regional semifinal.

Badger (14-7) hosts Elkhorn in a regional final Saturday. The winner advances to the Badger Sectional, which will be played at Beloit College.

n Oregon 55, Wilmot 26—Kayla Crowley scored a team-high 14 points as third-seeded Oregon (16-5) whipped Wilmot (1-20) to earn a spot in Saturday’s regional final.

Oregon rolled to a 29-10 halftime lead and never allowed Wilmot to reach double figures in any quarter.

The Panthers host Janesville Craig (7-14) in the regional title game. The winner plays Janesville Parker (15-5) or Kenosha Bradford (9-12) in the semifinals of the Badger Sectional at Beloit College.
