Edgerton High saw McFarland coming in the fourth quarter but couldn’t avoid a 32-31 loss in a Rock Valley North boys basketball makeup game Monday.

The visiting Cardinals ripped the Crimson Tide 15-6 in the final period for the victory, leaving Edgerton with its fifth straight loss. Aaron Dixon sank a three-point basket with less than a minute left to give McFarland the lead for good.

Lucas Schmitz scored 13 points for McFarland (10-9, 7-8), while Dixon added 11 as the Spartans pulled off a virtual repeat of their 30-28 win over Edgerton earlier this month.

Edgerton’s Bryan Gregory was held to eight points, 15 below his league-leading average. The Crimson Tide (13-6, 9-6) had no scorers in double figures.

n Big Foot 74, Parkview 63—The Chiefs rallied in the fourth quarter to pocket a come-from-behind victory, grab second place in the Rock Valley South and end preseason favorite Orfordville Parkview’s conference season at 5-11.

Parkview lead 53-51 after three quarters and pushed the margin to six in the final period, but Steve Dowden, Nate Nagel and Alec McGreevy combined for 19 points to give Big Foot (11-8, 8-7) a 23-10 advantage for the victory.

Nick Melton scored a game-high 27 points for Parkview, including 14 in the third quarter. Sean Woodworth had 13 points for the Vikings.

Nagel finished with 17 points, Dowden had 16, Mike Spadoni added 14 points, and McGreevy scored for Big Foot.

Badger South

n Edgewood 66, Milton 52—The Crusaders (15-4, 10-2) came on strong in the fourth quarter to fight off visiting Milton and earn a tie with Monroe for the Badger South championship.

Derek Braucht scored 16 of his 25 points to pace Edgewood to a 27-22 halftime lead. The Crusaders gained a 22-13 advantage in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

Mason Walters had a game-high 27 points for Milton (8-11, 6-6) and won Badger South scoring title with a 283 points and a 23.5 average.

n Elkhorn 65, Jefferson 35—Southern Lakes champion Elkhorn (17-2) had a 37-17 halftime lead en route to a nonconference win at Jefferson.

Max Findreng scored nine of his game-high 20 points in the second quarter to spark Elkhorn, the state’s ninth-ranked Division 1 team. Eric Bryson finished with 19 points for the Elks.

Trevor Probst scored 11 points for Jefferson (7-12).

 n Badger 74, East Troy 43—The Badgers (10-9) clobbered the Rock Valley North champion Trojans (14-5) with 13 three-point baskets in a nonconference game at Lake Geneva.

Preston Dailey scored a game-high 19 points for Badger, including four three-point baskets. Austin Gaugert scored 18 points, including a team-leading five three-point goals. Braden Tice finished with 14 points, including four three-pointers for the Badgers.

Mitch Windle scored 17 points for East Troy.
