Beloit College women dominate Lawrence
Beloit College’s women’s basketball team pounded Lawrence, 58-36, to close out the regular Midwest Conference women’s basketball season Wednesday at Appleton.
The Bucs jumped up 8-0 in the first four minutes, but the Vikings went on a 13-2 run over the next five minutes to lead 13-10. Beloit answered with an 18-3 run to close the half with a 28-16 lead.
Lawrence (0-22, 0-15) was within 36-23 five minutes into the second half, but the Bucs put together a 16-5 surge in the next 10 minutes to coast in for the win.
Christine Brown led Beloit with 12 points, and Mary Parker had 10.
Beloit (15-8, 12-4), the No. 2 seed in the Midwest Conference tournament, will play a semifinal game on Friday, Feb. 27, at St. Norbert.
