Old electronics, also known as "e-waste", could be banned from the Janesville landfill.
Julie Backenkeller, vice chair of the Sustainable Janesville Committee, says electronics from businesses are already banned. She says landfill workers can provide information about where to recycle old electronics instead of taking them to the city's landfill.
The committee is making a recommendation to the City Council, which will review it sometime in the future. The recommendation will be accompanied by a staff report on the ban.
