Burwell, Polzin advance in Delavan chairman race

— The incumbent and one challenger for town of Delavan chairman will advance to the general election in April.

Former Delavan Town Clerk Dorothy Burwell earned 248 votes. Incumbent Chairman Wayne Polzin earned 132 votes.

A third candidate, board member Jim Wolfgram, earned 32 votes. Wolfgram withdrew from the race after his name was placed on the ballot.

Polzin was appointed to the chairman position in April 2007 shortly after being elected to his 15th year as a board member.

Burwell served as the town clerk from 1999 to 2001. She served on the Walworth County Board from 1997 to 2008.
