UW-Marathon ends UW-Rock women's season

UW-Marathon ended visiting UW-Rock County’s season with a 58-45 victory in a Wisconsin Junior College Athletic Association women’s basketball tournament game Monday night at Wausau.

Marathon led 35-22 at halftime and controlled play the rest of the way.

The Rattlers held Marathon’s two top scorers to single digits, but Katie Weinsil picked up the slack, making eight of Marathon’s first 10 baskets.

Weinsil finished with a game-high 21 points. Tiffany Draeving scored 13 points to pace the Rattlers.

UW-Rock finished 9-13 overall and 8-8 in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference.
