Conference leading scorer Liz Althoff rose to the occasion to give Clinton High a 54-48, come-from-behind victory over Walworth Big Foot in Rock Valley South girls basketball Monday night.

Althoff, who has a 21.4 conference average, scored 14 of her season-high 33 points in the fourth quarter, including 7-for-7 on free throws, to help Clinton gain a 20-9 advantage and the win.

The host Cougars trailed 31-21 at the half and 40-34 after three quarters. Althoff also scored 11 points in the third quarter.

Kaleigh Young scored 14 points for Big Foot.

In winning the makeup game, Clinton (11-8, 8-7) moved into a third-place tie with Big Foot (9-10, 8-7). The two meet again Thursday in a regular-season finale at Walworth.

n Fort Atkinson 47, Jefferson 46—The Blackhawks (4-15) hammered the Eagles (13-6) with a 16-3 advantage in the fourth quarter for the come-from-behind nonconference victory.

Fort trailed 30-16 at the half and 43-31 after three quarters.

Lexy Wiegand scored eight of her game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter to pace Fort. Beth Ganser and Danielle Janny scored 11 points apiece for Jefferson, which hosts McFarland in a Rock Valley North championship game Thursday night.
