Fundraising is slow for the new Beloit Public Library, but organizers remain optimistic.

Co-chair Ken Forbeck says the public fundraising campaign will begin toward the end of February. He says there will be a lot of public events connected to fundraising for the library. Forbeck is trying to work with local businesses and trying to meet with the proper people at the appropriate time. The group hasn't met with large foundations in the community due to a variety of reasons. He is optimistic the library will reach its goal.

The new library is taking shape in the Eclipse Center.
