Beloit College women cruise past Carroll
BELOIT Beloit College kicked it up a notch and cruised past Carroll University, 75-56, in Midwest Conference women’s basketball here Wednesday.
Christine Brown scored a season-high 32 points to help lift the second-place Buccaneers to 11-3 in the league and 14-7 overall. Carroll fell to 8-6 and 13-8.
The Bucs led 42-31 at the half, making 13 of 14 free throws. Beloit made 21 of 25 free throws en route to its fourth straight victory.
Brown was red-hot, making 10 of 14 field-goal attempts and 12 of 15 free throws. Kandace Fox added 16 points to the Beloit effort, including going 4-for-4 in three-point attempts.
The Bucs host Ripon at 2 p.m. Saturday and conclude the regular season next week Wednesday at Lawrence.
