Second-ranked Madison Memorial (15-1, 13-1) roared back from a 24-9 first-quarter deficit Tuesday night to beat Beloit Memorial, 66-58, in a key Big Eight boys basketball game at Barkin Arena.
Jerronne Maymon scored 14 of his game-high 32 points in a 27-11 second quarter to pace the Spartans’ comeback. Teammates Vander Blue and Junior Lomomba scored 13 and 10 points, respectively.
All five Beloit starters scored in double figures. Jahlil Smith and Terrell Parks led the tye Purple Knights (12-5, 10-5) with 12 points. K.J. Evans, Sherod Stone and Marshall Davis each had 11.

Nimrod Hilliard IV added 15 points in the host Purgolders’ 13th straight win.
Michael Boos led the Cardinals with 23 points, and Sam Marshall added 12.

Matt Ropel added 13 points for Verona. Nobody for West reached double figures.
