Monroe High School’s girls basketball celebrated a “Sweet 16” party Tuesday night as Emily Rufenacht, Ashley Hermanson and Jamie Armstrong scored 16 points apiece.
That added up to a 60-50 for the Cheesemakers (16-2, 9-1) at Milton as they remained a half-game behind Madison Edgewood (15-3, 10-1) in the Badger South.
Monroe had a 22-9 advantage over the Red Hawks (5-12, 4-7) in the second quarter for a 28-18 halftime lead that held for the final margin.
Ashley Roherty led Milton with a game-high 17 points. Chelsea Roth added 11.
