Waterford broke a four-game conference losing streak by topping the defending champion Comets, 56-52, Tuesday night and keeping them from grabbing first place.

Delavan-Darien (14-3, 7-3), No. 9 in this week’s AP Division state ratings, remained half-game behind Union Grove (8-3), which lost to Lake Geneva Badger.

Waterford (10-6, 6-4) broke away from a 24-24 halftime tie in a 16-9 third quarter to avenge last month’s 47-43 loss to the visiting Comets.

Stephanie Rank led the Wolverines with 12 points.
