Craig outshines Madison West gymnasts

JANESVILLE — Janesville Craig High School posted its high score of the dual meet season, defeating Madison West, 132.15-125.9, in a Big Eight Conference gymnastics makeup dual meet.

Craig freshman Becky Schneider enjoyed a sweep, winning the vault with an 8.8, the uneven bars with an 8.7, the balance beam with an 8.8 and the floor exercise with a 9.1. Schneider won the all-around with a 35.4 score.

“Schneider had a good night,” Craig coach Jean Welch said. “She had her strongest performance this season.’’

Craig will compete in the Mukwonago Invitational at 10 a.m. this Saturday.
