Beloit shooting victim autopsy completed

WCLO's Steve Benton reports on progress in a Beloit homicide case

BELOIT — The autopsy of Beloit shooting victim, 18 year old Joseph Debuque, shows he died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Beloit Police Captain Bill Tyler says they've collected evidence from the victim's car and from the stolen car used, and then abandoned, by the shooter. He says they're also continuing to interview witnesses, and others willing to talk, about the crime.

Tyler says similar crimes, involving stolen cars, have occurred in Beloit and the Town of Beloit, since last fall. He says while the earlier crimes can be linked to gang activity, he's not ready to say the Debuque murder is gang related.
