Gregory bags 39 for Tide

Bryan Gregory put on another show Friday night.


Edgerton High’s 6-foot-4 senior forward scored a career-high 39 points, including all 17 of his team’s third-quarter points, in leading the Crimson Tide to a 57-47 victory over visiting Jefferson.


The win boosted Edgerton, No. 8 in the AP Division 2 state ratings, to 13-1 for the season and kept the Crimson Tide a game behind East Troy at 9-1 in the Rock Valley North loss column. The Tide and Trojans (11-3, 11-0) meet Tuesday at East Troy.


The matchup featured the Rock Valley’s top two scorers in Gregory and Jefferson senior Trevor Probst, who finished with 15 points. Both came in averaging over 22 a game.


Tyler Tomczak added 11 points for Jefferson (7-8, 6-6).

East Troy 69, McFarland 59—East Troy (10-0) hit 14 of 18 free throws in the fourth quarter to hold off visiting McFarland (4-5) and remain in first place in the Rock Valley North.


Cody Condon led East Troy with 16 points while four other Trojans scored in double digits: Dan Douglas (12), Scotty Beckwith (10), Mitch Windle (10), and Olsen (10).


McFarland’s Paul Wedel had a game-high 18 points.

Evansville 62, Whitewater 60—Andrew Keister went 3-for-4 from the foul line in the final 30 seconds to complete a 28-point night and give Evansville (11-5, 8-3) the victory over the Whippets (8-7, 6-5).


Casey Moseley had a 12-point game for Evansville, while Tony Bilderback led Whitewater with 20.

Dan Meyer led the Panthers with 17 points while Chris McMillan (13 points) and Kevin McGivern (10 points) also scored in double figures.
