UW-Rock County women edge out UW-Richland

— UW-Rock County skipped past UW-Richland, 51-47, in Wisconsin Collegiate Conference women’s basketball here Wednesday.

In a see-saw battle that had 10 lead changes and five ties, the Rattlers clung to a 49-47 lead with seven seconds remaining when UW-Rock’s Kaylyn Sherrod made a steal and a basket for the winning margin.

Sherrod scored a game-high 19 points, while teammate Tiffany Draeving added 17 points.

UW-Rock (9-10, 8-6 WCC) travels to UW-Marathon for a 1 p.m. game Saturday.
