UW-Rock County men survive late rally

— UW-Rock County beat UW-Richland to the finish line for a 79-75 victory in Wisconsin Collegiate Conference men’s basketball here Wednesday.

Richland cut UW-Rock’s 68-51 lead to a basket with 13 seconds remaining, but Mario Selph made two free throws for the Rattler’s winning margin.


“Mario’s penetration and dribble made the difference,” UW-Rock coach Scott Lee said.


Selph finished with a game-high 27 points, including making 8 of 12 free throws in the second half. Corey Kramer scored 16 points and teammate Matt Hilt added 13 points for the Rattlers.


UW-Rock (11-11, 4-5 WCC) will travel to UW-Marathon for a 3 p.m. game Saturday.
