-- SUBSTANTIAL BATTERY reported at 9:54 p.m. Jan. 22 at Diamond Jim’s Isabella Queen, 6530 S. Highway 51, Janesville. A man is accused of hitting another man in the face with a bottle.
-- ROTAMER ROAD AND GALAXY DRIVE, Janesville, at 7:13 a.m. Tuesday, a minivan driven by Tierney J. Mittelstadt, 16, of 4206 E. Apollo Lane, Janesville, collided with Joan E. Wanninger, 68, of 4306 Polaris Parkway, Janesville, who was crossing the street. Wanninger remains in Mercy Hospital, Janesville, in fair condition.
-- APARTMENT FIRE at 11:24 a.m. Tuesday at 622 E. Milwaukee St., Janesville, in the lower unit of a three-unit building. The fire started in the dining/office area. Its cause remains under investigation. Although the fire was confined to the room of origin, $55,000 of damage—primarily smoke—occurred throughout the structure. The South Central Wisconsin Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to the scene and assisted the seven displaced tenants. Four pets were rescued from the fire, but one dog died. Gas, electricity and water also were shut off, according to a Janesville Fire Department shift commander.
Intoxicated driving arrests
