Teen taken from river to hospital
JANESVILLE A suicidal teen who jumped into the Rock River on Monday afternoon was taken to Mercy Hospital for further evaluation, Janesville police said today.
The Janesville Fire Department was dispatched at 5:20 p.m. for a subject in the river, said Craig Jones, shift commander.
"When the first engine crews arrived on scene behind 20 E. Court St., she was standing by the river wall," he said.
Firefighters provided a ladder and assisted the female up the ladder and out, Jones said.
"She walked to the ambulance and was transported to Mercy Hospital," he said.
