Rock Deputies patrol snowmobile trails
Podcast Episode
ROCK COUNTY The Rock County Sheriff's Department has another vehicle in their fleet. It's a Yamaha Viking Professional snowmobile.
Commander Troy Knutson says the department is now able to patrol a part of the county it's never been able to before, the 200-plus miles of snowmobile trails.
Knutson says the snowmobile is able to carry two people and pull a sled with an injured person. He says they were out over the last couple of weekends and issued citations and warnings for things like lack of vehicle registration or no trail pass.
The snowmobile was donated by Mike DuClos, owner of Rock River Power Sports in Jefferson.
