WCLO's Steve Benton reports on the retirement reception for retiring Janesville Deputy Police Chief, Steve Kopp

RSS

— Janesville Deputy Police Chief, Steve Kopp, received a rousing send off Wednesday as he began his retirement from law enforcement service.

During a reception at the police department, Kopp said his proudest achievement was working with the accreditation process for the department.

He said his career has taken several twists, and one of them was working on the new police services building. He said he never thought he would be "pouring over blueprints" and deciding which way doors should open, when he began working as an officer.

When asked to name the biggest improvement in an officers daily life over the last 32 years, Kopp answered "the lap-top computer."
