WCLO's Steve Benton reports on the Beloit link on the state's wellness council board of directors

RSS

— One of the newest members of the state wellness council board of directors works for the school district of Beloit.

Kelly Jenkins served on the board previously, and was asked to serve again when she became the wellness coordinator for Beloit.

She says the board is "a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Wisconsin employers develop work-site wellness programs." She says most of the other board members represent "for profit organizations" and Beloit is the only school district represented on the board.

Jenkins says she'll be able to help Beloit, and other school districts in the state, by informing the board of the needs and challenges facing school districts as they develop wellness programs.
