Mercy officials call "Street Smart" a comical and lovable character.

The safety mascot is part of the ThinkFirst program and Mercy's trauma program initiatives. "Street Smart" is geared toward the imaginations of the third grade age group. "Street Smart" will be making a variety of appearances at schools and other gatherings to explain spine, brain, and other safety concerns. "Street Smart" made his first appearance at the YMCA Janesville Family Fitness Day.

The ThinkFirst program is a nationwide, award-winning, evidence based program intent on teaching young people how to avoid or reduce their chances of being injured.
