Abrahamson set to speak at UW-Rock
JANESVILLE Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice Shirley S. Abrahamson will speak at UW-Rock County Foundation's Breakfast of Champions at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at UW-Rock County, Hyatt Smith Hall, 2909 Kellogg Ave.
Abrahamson will present "A View from the Bench," in which she'll draw on her more than 30 years experience on the Supreme Court to discuss the Constitution and civic engagement.
Abrahamson became the first woman on the Wisconsin Supreme Court when she was appointed in 1976. She has served as chief justice since 1996. She earned degrees from New York University, Indiana University Law School and the University of Wisconsin Law School. She holds 15 honorary doctor of law degrees.
The UW-Rock County Foundation sponsors The Breakfast of Champions as part of its mission to bring cultural programs to the community. The foundation also provides more than 40 scholarships to UW-Rock County students, as well as professional development and other enhancements to the campus.

Well, we could talk about the difference between Abrahamson and the last two to get elected to the high court, Ziegler and Gableman. Too bad Abrahamson is unlikely to tell us what she really things of them.

It's just an announcement, so I'm not sure what conversation you expect to take place. I guess we could all complain about the 7:30a.m. time and have a rollicking debate about morning meetings.
